LOSING WEIGHT IS AN EXERCISE OF THE MIND, BODY & SPIRIT

Losing weight takes dedication and a lot of jiu jitsu scheduling techniques when it comes to parenting and chasing a toddler around! I’m nearing the end of my official second day of the 3-day juice fast, and I had a better weigh-in this morning. Tomorrow morning will be my 3rd and final weigh-in to gauge how much I’ve lost.

WEIGHT LOSS DAYS 1 & 2

1st Day: Began at 145 ended at 144.4

2nd Day: Began at 144.4 ended at 141.4

3rd Day: ?

LOSING WEIGHT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER

  • My energy increases and my mood lightens when I am losing weight. And when I am also exercising I am able to better channel my energy to not only eating well but also accomplishing projects.
  • Losing weight means getting the blood flowing. Movement helps oxygen flow through the body.
  • If you start losing weight, you begin creating positive momentum, which drives you forward. And suddenly you mentally feel prepared to overcome obstacles.

WEIGHT LOSS DIETS REQUIRE FLEXIBILITY

My 3-day juice diet also included a breakfast of solid foods on Saturday morning with the family. Lest you say I cheated, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, as “they” say. As long as it’s high in protein and low in bad fats, it provides you with much-needed fuel for the rest of your day.

We had a busy day and decided to visit Denny’s. You read correctly. The chain has actually reinvented itself over the past year and now offers a range of healthier options and the food is quite good, not to mention the price.

If you have to eat out and you are on a strict diet, Denny’s is a great choice and is among the growing number of restaurants—even the fast food variety—that allows customers to replace sides or even build their own meals with healthier options.

I order the “Fit & Focused,” consisting of egg whites, turkey bacon and a bowl of fruit. I substituted broccoli for the English Muffin and estimated 350 calories for the meal but, Ariabella ate most of the fruit.

This gave me the energy I needed to hit the gym. Today, I accomplished 75 minutes on the treadmill with an incline level of 4, followed by 10 minutes in the sauna. My day finished by juicing for the rest of the day, and finishing off the day with a bowl of almonds.

NOTE: A dab of Bragg’s Liquid Aminos for seasoning on anything is good!

I will update you on Sunday with my latest weigh-in number to indicate my progress.
