The biggest challenge to losing weight is the lack of momentum one feels once we’ve fallen off the exercise wagon. If we stop making losing weight a routine, then it’s harder to regain momentum after time has lapsed.
LOSING WEIGHT REQUIRES INTERNAL MOTIVATION
When it comes to riding a bike, you can get back on and you still know how to do it. It’s the old cliché but so true. Most good habits, and bad ones too, require frequency.
Think about it.
Getting back on the bike involves motive, and lack of enthusiasm tends to eat away at our drive rather quickly. I was a size zero and I’m now between a 6 and an 8. To make myself feel better, I often wear a size 10 just so that it fits a little loose on me. It depends upon the brand I’m wearing as well.
TRY LOSING THE WEIGHT BEFORE & DON’T WORRY ABOUT YOUR SIZE
But, clothes size doesn’t matter or shouldn’t when it comes to losing weight. The goal is to want to
have a goal, to push ourselves beyond the inside voices that tell us, “you can’t.” The biggest thing is getting out there again and in the gym, especially with a kid(s).
If you have more than one, it gets even more trying and some of us aren’t naturally skinny the way other women are. Luckily, our body has muscle memory, and if you used to work out a lot, like I once did, you can get your body back quicker.
Depression can often sap our inner ass-kicker and tell us to just forget the gym today. But, you have to push past depression or the low energy that weighs you down. It can be draining to be a parent. You find yourself putting everyone else first and you last.
LOSING WEIGHT REQUIRES PUTTING YOURSELF FIRST
Don’t put yourself last anymore. Get help if you can and a sitter if necessary. Join the Y. The YMCA offers 2 hours of day care just like 24-hour fitness as well for an additional cost for your child. But, YMCA allows you to take your child out for 30 minutes and then put them back in for another 2 hours. You can exercise for 2 hours, swim with them for 30 minutes and write or work on stuff for another 2 hours. So, technically, you can be there for 5 hours or more and get a lot of exercise in plus work.
