The best part about the YMCA is that it’s very family oriented. My husband and I made the mistake of paying for a gym close to our home that doesn’t provide daycare. Close proximity overruled common sense that should’ve told us, “hey dummy, you’ve got a kid remember?”
THE YMCA IS MORE THAN JUST A GYM
Duh, is right. Ask me how many times we’ve used that stupid waste of money gym pass? We can count on one, okay, maybe two hands. We already paid for the year, so we were hesitant to get another gym membership. But, you see, the YMCA isn’t just a gym membership. The Y is so much more. It offers something for everyone, yes you heard me correctly. They’ve got classes for all ages from senior citizens, toddlers, mommy and me, teens, holiday parties, and etc.
YMCA OFFERS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
The benefits of joining YMCA are quite obvious: Indoor pool for kids and adults, free weights, and cardio machines all huge bonuses. Not to mention, the final sanity saver is the day care option where you can drop your kid off for 2 hours at a time. You have to return within two hours, take them out of day care for 30 minutes, and can drop them right back off for another 2 hours. If you need to do work, bring your laptop because they’ve got FREE wi-fi and an area with tables and yes, plugs. I must bring up plugs because I’m terribly disappointed in Barnes and Nobles for removing all of their plugs in their coffee bar sitting area in all of their stores. Boo! I miss Borders Bookstore!
Anyway, because of the holidays my husband is on vacation and is off from work. So, we both brought our Macbooks (we ♥ Apple products especially our Macbook Pros). My husband and I dropped off our daughter at daycare and then worked out for a little over an hour, then grabbed our laptops out of the trunk of the car, and powered away working on blog posts.
All FAMILIES SHOULD HAVE A YMCA MEMBERSHIP
The YMCA is the best place for families. Especially, if you’re a busy mother regardless if you work full-time outside of the home, or from home, or if you’re simply a stay at home mommy or daddy. Get a membership, its inexpensive compared to many gym memberships today. It’s an investment in your mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing, not to mention an investment in your family.
